Samsung’s new generation mixed reality (XR) headset, developed in collaboration with Google, has emerged on the Geekbench test platform under the code name “Project Moohan”. Developed as a rival to Apple Vision Pro, the device is equipped with Qualcomm’s XR-focused new generation processor Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2.

According to Geekbench data, the device has a six-core Cortex-A78C architecture processor. Two of them operate at 2.36 GHz and four at 2.05 GHz. On the graphics side, Adreno 740 GPU is used. This structure supports advanced features such as low-latency full-color transition, Wi-Fi 7 connection and foveated rendering for XR platforms.

One of the technologies that draws attention in the new headset is the image estimation system called “Space Warp”. Thanks to this feature, intermediate frames are created without loading the GPU, which reduces the feeling of discomfort that occurs due to user movements.

With the benchmark leak, it has also been confirmed that 16 GB of RAM will be used in the device. On the operating system side, a special version of Android 14 adapted for XR is preferred. Thus, a more natural user experience will be offered with artificial intelligence support in interactive content.

The only XR device that Samsung is working on is not limited to Project Moohan. The Geekbench results also included data belonging to another device codenamed SM-I130. This second model is thought to be one of the devices codenamed “Project Haean” or “Project Jinju”, which are expected to be thinner and in the form of glasses.
